Digital or offset printing?
The right process follows the specification, not a universal quantity threshold.

The short answer
Consider digital for short runs, variable data and reprints. Consider offset for longer stable runs and specific colour or material requirements. Compare equivalent quotes and samples.
| Criterion | Digital | Offset |
|---|---|---|
| Setup | No conventional plates | Plates and press setup |
| Variants | Supports variable data | Changes may require new setup |
| Quantity | Often suits short runs | Setup is shared across more copies |
| Material | Check the specific press | Check press, ink and drying |
When digital helps
Choose it as a candidate when each reprint may change or storage is limited. Check registration and folding performance.
When to investigate offset
Stable longer runs or special production requirements can justify setup. Include finishing, waste and delivery in the comparison. Neither process guarantees a lower price or better quality in isolation.
